WHY WE FUNDRAISE
Hoʻolauleʻa is the biggest fundraiser for the KSK Association of Teachers and Parents (ATP). Funds raised attributes to over 75% of our giving budget for the following school year. All proceeds from Hoʻolauleʻa go towards various student enrichment grants, scholarships, teacher appreciation activities, ʻohana engagement and more. Your donations and sales during Ho'olaule'a benefit our Kamehameha
Kapālama haumāna, kumu and ʻohana.
ATP GRANTS
Every year ATP provides grants supporting student enrichment activities not covered by Kamehameha Schools. These include huakaiʻs for classes and clubs, and extra curricular activites. The more we raise the more we give back to enrich our haumāna's educational experience.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Another portion of our ATP General fund each year goes to supporting scholarships for graduating seniors. In partnership with the Pauahi Foundation, we award students who demonstrate "Hoʻihi aku, Hoʻihi mai" - the giving and receiving of respect.
PARENT ENGAGEMENT
It's important that we strengthen our KSK ʻohana through activities outside of school. A portion of our funds help our ATP Reps create engaging activities in the areas of Culture, Social, Education, and Community Service.
ABOUT HOʻOLAULEʻA
Hoʻolauleʻa is the only fundraising event for the KS Kapālama ATP and all proceeds go to support student enrichment grants and educational activities above and beyond what the school provides.
In a typical year, nearly 1,500 volunteers including students, families and staff join together to support this annual event.
Hoʻolauleʻa's Mission:
-
To strengthen the KSK ‘ohana and our sense of community and place. It is the only event that involves all grade levels (K-12).
-
To raise funds for student enrichment grants
-
To have fun together as a KSK ‘ohana
